Programme Note: The compositional goal for this piece was to write something as joyful as possible.  The starting point was in choosing to set one word of exclamation and rejoice:  Alléluia!  The piece is built on an iconic musical gesture of happiness, the ascending major triad.  The natural rhythm of the word is used to give a 5/8 meter for most of the piece.
